It’s that time of year again when we get back into our schedules after the summer. For me, that means starting my fitness routine again. I took the summer off but now with local fitness classes starting back up, I’m forced to get back into the game!! and I feel better already….more energy, improved mood according to my hubby 🙂 and I’m overall happier.
My friend Bonnie and I just finished a back / bicep workout and I thought I would share one of my favorite smoothie recipes. We drink a lot of smoothies in my house and I always have baggies in the freezer ready to blend and go. Today I am using fresh kale because I still have quite a bit in my garden but you could also use spinach. It’s a great way to use up your extra garden greens.
My Go-To Green Smoothie

- 1 TBSP almond butter / or peanut butter
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 2 large handfuls of kale
- 1 TBSP chia seeds or flaxseed
- 2 handfuls of ice cubes

Place all ingredients in high speed blender and blend until smooth.
Makes 1 smoothie
Enjoy!!
